The girls went to Belen, NM a couple of weeks ago to see their great grandma Lois, grandma MiMi, Uncle Doug, Uncle Dick and their dad.  The returned home on Thursday April 2nd.  It was a joyous and sad time all in one.  The did get to visit with everyone on Scott’s side and he took them to visit their Mamma and aunts and uncle on my side.  Their grandma Lois had cancer and they wanted to see her before she got to bad.  They had just seen her last summer but  the cancer had taken its toll on her more then what they could imagine.   Like I said they came home Thursday night.  We found out that Marie, Doug and Dick had to take Lois to the hospital Friday, the cancer had eaten through her artery and she had lost a liter of blood.  She did get to go home Friday night and be with her children.  We found out Monday that she had passed away Sunday night.  Adesha and Amanda took it harder then Abree because they remembered the cook outs and the times they had shared with Lois.  Abree remembers the times that they got to share with her out here in Texas and on visits back home.  God was gracious and didnt let her suffer anymore then what she had.   I told the girls that He let her hold on until she got to see her granddaughter’s.  They smiled and agreed.

Life is crazy at times and I dont think we realize it until it is almost to late.  We let things take priority over what is right in front of us.  All the running around trying to get everyone here and there from church to games or whatever is in the plans.  Do we really stop and take time to realize all that it is affecting?  How once some relationships were close and then because of life they have just faded away…..I have a brother I see just about everytime the family gets together.  He lives here in town but is gone during the week on the truck….that doesnt mean I dont think about him, because I do.  I wonder how he is doing, how his wife is doing and his kids.  I have a brother that lives behind me that I see several times a week and talk to him on the phone, but now I wonder have I ever just stopped and asked him how he is doing, is life going ok…I send emails to my sister and know that when she gets time she will email back and let me know that things are ok, but are they really.  I have a brother that I see once in awhile and talk to once in awhile and when asked how life is going he is short or just chit chatty……to sit and look at it now…..has life taken over everything….where is the closeness that was once there…will it ever be there again…..

Sorry just some thoughts that have been on my mind lately………..

I have thought a lot about what could happen in this next new year and have honestly became a little excited about this next year.  New adventures, new job opportunities, new adventures with the girls and Bobby……..just a whole NEW year. 

 Our attitude at the beginning really is what our outlook on the next year is.  Looking back through the last year I see where we have had our mountains and valleys.  I also see where we have grown/matured during those valleys, not only as a family but spiritually.  I am very happy that my girls have realized that there is more to going to church then just going to church.  God wants to have a relationship with them and they want to have a relationship with HIM.   I am very proud of my girls.

Sooooooo, I wish everyone a wonderful and very blessed 2009, look forward to the adventure this year no matter what it is.  If you are in a valley ask God what he is trying to show you through this and praise Him for it.  If you are on top of the mountain praise Him and remember that because of HIM you are on top of that mountain.  Remember those who are going through their struggles or valleys and keep them in your prayers, give them a call and when you see them give them a hug andjust lend an ear, they may just want someone to listen to them.  Have a wonderful new year and remember who your FIRST love is……if you have forgotten then do some back stepping and remember who first loved you.

Christmas at home was unbelievable too.  Of course after all of the excitement at mom and dads, we couldn’t wait to get home and see what we had.  It was wonderful to watch the girls open their presents one by one and just take in all the emotions that were flowing in the room.  When it came time for Bobby and I to open our presents it was emotional.  Sometimes it isn’t so much the gift that is given but the thought that is behind it.  The girls gave Bobby an eagle statue, it was an older statue that brought tears to his eyes.  Bobby gave Amanda a collectors knife set, I didn’t know who was going to cry first Amanda or Bobby.  He gave Adesha and Aggie’s T-shirt…..now the competition is on between the two…laughing….Aggies and Longhorns.  Abree was given a Crash Bash 3 disk game set…..wasn’t sure she just wasn’t going to jump up and down all night.  I gave Bobby a Longhorn hoodie, Longhorn long john shirt and Longhorn sweats…..hope he stays warm.   The girls gave me some perfume….love it.  Then it came time for me to open the gifts Bobby gave me…..there is a story behind each one.  The first gift was a big tool box…..I LOVED IT….he told me that when I was working on the cabinets (sanding and staining them) and I showed him the little cardboard box that I kept my stuff in it tore him up.  I didn’t think nothing of it because I knew where all my stuff was.  Well my tool box is filled up now…..lol.  My second gift was a pan set….LOVE IT !!!  I had made a comment a few weeks ago that I needed some more pots and pans, he was listening wasn’t he…laughing.  My third gift was a tool set……omgshhhhhhhhh watch out…..I now have my tools and my tool box and I am trying to fix everything……lol.  My last gift was  a precious gift……it was an indian lady on her knees…….lets just say once again he was listening.   This year we cried, laughed, hugged, climbed mountains, and had a few valleys, but through it all God was with us and we give all the glory to HIM.

Now I am just waiting to see what kind of adventures we have in the upcoming year.

 The church was filled more last night then it was in the morning service, but that is ok.  The lights and the music and the meaning behind the story that was being told illuminated the church.  Knowing that the reenactment of this part in our history  touched many of those that were there was well worth it.   When I was watching Amanda (who played Mary) at the beginning when she was being told that she was carrying the child of God  realize how innocent Mary was when she found out what the Lord was asking of her.   

Then that brings up the question if a young lady was told that today she would be giving birth with the Lord’s child, would she react in the same way as Mary? or how would she take it?

The town of Sulphur Springs is hustling and busling around getting read to leave for San Antonio for the State Championship.  Our little town will be empty tonight and tomorrow, people trying to catch a moment in time.  GO CATS !!!!!
